THE MID-ATLANTIC SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Julien Benichou, Music Director

The Maestro speaks of his vision for the MSO

Year after year,

With your support,

We have been building a remarkable regional symphony, whose goal it is to be one of the best in the country. What seemed like a dream ten years ago is being accomplished and the MSO is now a fully professional orchestra, attracting world-renowned soloists.

And what seems like a dream today, a full-size symphony with several more concerts each season, will be achieved without a doubt.

This coming season series is indeed a very special one.
You will hear for the third time with the MSO, Baltimore Symphony’s brilliant concertmaster Jonathan Carney and the incredible violinist Stefan Jackiw in a return appearance. Critically acclaimed saxophonist Gary Louie will be making his MSO debut with the lush Glazunov Concerto and Milhaud’s fun and exciting Scaramouche.

For our “Holiday Joy!” program we will feature the very talented singers of the Morgan State University Opera Workshop. Their voices will transport you! For the first time, the MSO performance will be conducted by Simeone Tartaglione, MSO Assistant Conductor. His interpretation of Beethoven’s Symphony No.8 is sure to be memorable.

In the spirit of our motto:
“Music transcends differences across cultures and generations,”

an expanded collaboration between the MSO and other arts organizations will enhance the experience we offer our audiences, for the mature and the young alike. It will allow you to feel deeply how classical music stirs the full range of emotions. It touches the heart and soul, and can even move you to tears. But it can also surprise you, and be very exciting and a lot of fun! Classical music conveys all that and more. The dynamic diversity of our eclectic programs and world-renowned soloists brings it all to you.

The MSO brings it all to you, close to home, and LIVE!

Is there any artistic offering better than live music?

Don’t you feel that you should not miss
any opportunity to experience it?
We hope that you put all our concerts on your calendar.

You will be glad you did!

Let yourself be enthralled by the Magic of Music!

Your Maestro,

  Julien Benichou
