Soloists: Morgan State University Opera Workshop
Morgan State University Opera Workshop has been offering performance opportunities for students interested in broadening their operatic and music theatre knowledge and experience since 2004. MSUOW has presented fully-staged productions and concerts with piano and orchestra. We provide students with an opportunity to learn roles, sing chorus, assist with lighting design, stage and house management. This is a student-centered class. Some of our past productions include Amahl and the Night Visitors, Dido and Aeneas, Gianni Schicchi, Treemonisha, Highway One USA, Gallantry, The Medium an Annual Opera Gala Concert with Orchestra and many more. As outreach, MSUOW presents a matinee performance open to public school students and senior citizens from the surrounding Baltimore communities. In addition to performances at Murphy Fine Arts Center, Opera Workshop students are provided with opportunities to perform with local and regional orchestras.
