Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra Cancels August 16 Concert, Will Live Stream Future Performances

Based on the latest government guidelines and consistent with our commitment to the health and well-being of our patrons, musicians and staff, the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra (MSO) has made the difficult decision to cancel the performance scheduled for Sunday, August 16, at the Performing Arts Center in Ocean City, MD. Please note the August 13th concert at the Easton Church of God will take place as scheduled and be live streamed.

Believing in the power of classical music to heal and bring us together, particularly in these unprecedented times, the Orchestra will live stream future performances, beginning with an August 13 concert at the Easton Church of God in Easton, MD, at 7 PM. The program will be rebroadcast at 3 PM on August 16, in place of the canceled Ocean City performance, and also will be available on the MSO website, midatlanticsymphony.org. The inaugural live stream is free, but donations will be accepted.

The MSO Board of Directors and staff have been working diligently to make the necessary adjustments to ensure the health and safety of performers and audiences, and to comply with evolving guidance from state and local governments. In good times or bad, the MSO remains focused on its mission to inspire, enrich, educate and entertain diverse audiences of all ages through live musical performances.

Details of the Orchestra’s live streaming plans for the 2020-2021 season will be announced in the near future. With the live streaming initiative, the MSO has created new sponsorship opportunities. Additional information, including sponsorship levels, can be found on the MSO’s website at midatlanticsymphony.org/corporate-sponsorship.

All previously purchased tickets for the August 16 concert will be refunded, although patrons are encouraged to consider donating the value of their tickets to the MSO to support its ongoing operations. If you have any questions please contact the MSO by emailing info@midatlanticsymphony.org or by calling 888-846-8600.

We look forward to “seeing” you on the live streams or in person, consistent with evolving guidelines on public gatherings.
