Dear Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra Family,

Welcome to the 2025–2026 season of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, my fourth as Music Director! This year, we celebrate Bold Voices, Eternal Resonance—a journey through powerful musical voices that have shaped classical music.

Our season opens with the brilliance of Beethoven and Emilie Mayer, featuring Symphony No. 7, and Mayer’s bold Symphony No. 1. In November, we welcome guest conductor Geroge Jackson to the podium, followed by our beloved Holiday Joy concerts, spreading festive cheer across the Delmarva Peninsula.

We explore the passage of time in “Morning, Afternoon, Night”, featuring Haydn’s Symphonies No. 6, 7, and 8, alongside evocative modern works by Tabakova, Day, and Nishimura. This concert promises to be a highlight of the season.

We are also thrilled to continue the Elizabeth Loker International Concerto Competition, celebrating extraordinary young musicians from around the world and providing them with the opportunity to perform with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra.

Our season finale closes with Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5, performed by Nora Chastain, and the bold energy of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9.

Of course, we continue our cherished Ensembles Series, where members of the orchestra perform in more intimate settings, bringing you closer to the music and the musicians. This season, we are thrilled to introduce the Ensembles Series in Ocean Pines for the very first time, expanding our reach and sharing these intimate performances with our entire community.

There is truly something for everyone this season, and we are excited to share this musical journey with you. Join us as we celebrate the bold voices of classical music and their eternal resonance. We look forward to performing for you.

Warm regards,

Michael Repper

Music Director
