Join us in November as we present French pianist, Didier Castell-Jacomin, in one of Haydn’s seldom played, but beautiful piano concertos. Castell-Jacomin, a well-recorded artist and he is a specialist of the classical repertoire of Mozart and Haydn in particular. We will also play Dvorak’s lush String Serenade as well as the American classic Appalachian Spring.
About Our Soloist
A student of Catherine Collard, Georgy Cziffra, Fausto Zadra, and Vincenzo Scaramuzza, Didier Castell-Jacomin is a renowned performer who has performed on many of the world’s most famous stages. His debut at the Berlin Philharmonie let to invitations to perform at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall in New York, in addition to numerous venues in London, Brussels and in Spain.
In Germany, Didier Castell-Jacomin has played with the Baden Baden Philharmonie, in Switzerland at the New Year Festival in Gstaadt, and in France at Salle Cortot and at Théâtre de l'Athénée. Norman Lebrecht called him: "A sparkling pianist", and Paul Badura-Skoda, after a performance together, called him "A true Mozartian".
The extensive discography of Didier Castell-Jacomin includes works by Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann. His last recording was devoted to women composers (Chaminade, Bonis, Clara Schumann).
Didier Castell-Jacomin and the Wiener Kammer Symphony Quintet preformed on tour in the Netherlands at the end of 2018. A recording of the tour will be released in spring 2019 on Naxos.
