Mio Imai, age 15, studies violin with Kimberly Fisher, Principal Second Violin of The Philadelphia Orchestra, and is also coached by Grammy-nominated pianist Mark Livshits. Mio made her first appearance as a soloist at the age of nine and has since performed with numerous orchestras, including the Nashville Symphony Orchestra (USA, 2025), Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (USA, 2025), Allentown Symphony Orchestra (USA, 2025), Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra (USA, 2024), FVG Orchestra (Italy, 2023), and Accademia d’Archi Arrigoni Orchestra (Italy, 2023–2024).


She is a first-prize winner of the 2024 Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition (Belgium), 2024 Stulberg International String Competition (USA), 2024 MTNA National Competition (USA), and the 2023 Piccolo Violino Magico International Competition (Italy). Mio is also a former major prizewinner at the Leonid Kogan International Competition (Belgium), Ronald Sachs International Music Competition (USA), Johansen International Competition (USA), Nashville Symphony Curb Concerto Competition (USA), and the Chicago Violin International Competition (USA).


Mio has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists including Midori, James Ehnes, Ida Kavafian, Karen Aroutiounian, the Takács Quartet, Paul Kantor, Sibbi Bernhardsson, and Robert Chen. She performs on a Vincenzo Sannino violin and a François Nicolas Voirin bow, on loan from the Takeuchi Collection through the Nippon Violin Society Program.
