Dear Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra Family,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 season of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, New Worlds, Timeless Wonders. I am thrilled to invite you on another exciting musical journey filled with beloved masterworks, remarkable discoveries, and outstanding guest artists.

We begin the season with the elegance of Dvořák's Serenade for Strings, Haydn's final symphony, the magnificent "London," and Florence Price's moving Adoration. In November, we continue our exploration of extraordinary voices with a special celebration of American composer Mary Howe, whose music appears alongside symphonies by Schubert and Beethoven.

Our beloved Holiday Joy concerts and annual New Year's Eve celebration return as cherished traditions, and we are delighted to welcome acclaimed soprano Laquita Mitchell as our special guest artist for New Year's Eve.

The spring season brings a vibrant mix of contemporary and classical works, including music by Jessie Montgomery and Tanner Porter, Aaron Copland's Clarinet Concerto featuring YaoGuang Zhai, Principal Clarinet of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and Mozart's radiant Symphony No. 29. We conclude the season with a program of remarkable discoveries featuring Dwight Parry, Principal Oboe of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, performing Ralph Vaughan Williams' beloved Oboe Concerto, alongside Samuel Coleridge-Taylor's lyrical Noveletten and Louise Farrenc's inspiring Symphony No. 3. Together, these works showcase the beauty, creativity, and enduring power of orchestral music.

We are also proud to continue the Elizabeth Loker International Concerto Competition, which brings exceptional young musicians from around the world to the Delmarva region and remains one of the Orchestra's most inspiring traditions.

Our Ensembles Series continues to grow and flourish, offering audiences intimate performances by members of the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra. From romantic chamber masterpieces to holiday favorites, Beethoven celebrations, and season-ending musical discoveries, these concerts provide unique opportunities to experience our musicians up close.

There is truly something for everyone this season, and we look forward to sharing these musical experiences with you. Join us as we explore new worlds, celebrate timeless wonders, and continue building a vibrant musical community throughout the Delmarva region.

Warm regards,

Michael Repper
