A native of Baltimore Joshua Samuel Carr enjoys performing all kinds of music. He began playing trumpet at a young age and continued his studies at Towson University in Maryland and the San Francisco Conservatory in California. While at Towson Joshua won first prize in the Sydney R. Lieberman Competition and was featured as a soloist with the Children’s Chorus of Maryland and Baltimore City’s Honor Band. In San Francisco Joshua performed regularly as Principal Trumpet with the Awesome Orchestra, Symphony Parnassus, Bay Area Rainbow Symphony, and San Francisco Academy Orchestra. As part of the Noble Trumpets of the San Francisco Conservatory, Joshua had the opportunity to perform the National Anthem for the Giants at AT&T Park and the Warriors at Oracle Arena. Joshua has also performed as a guest artist with the UC Berkeley Symphony, Stanford Symphony Orchestra. Now after moving back to the East Coast Joshua has recently become a member of the Capital Wind Symphony and has had the opportunity to join with the Lancaster and Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra in recent concerts.
