Meet Our Musicians: Nicholas Mazziott, Principal Trombone

Come and see Nick and the rest of your Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra for our Holiday Joy concerts. The concerts will be tomorrow, Saturday, December 2, at 7 PM at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, DE, and on Sunday, December 3, at 3 PM at the Performing Arts Center in Ocean City, MD.

Nick will also be performing in the Holiday Brass Quintet Concerts, which will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, DE, on Friday, December 15th, at 7 PM, and on Sunday, December 17th, at 4 PM at Christ Church in Easton, MD.


Mr. Mazziott has been a performer and educator in the Baltimore area since 1990.  A native to Maryland, he received his Bachelor degree in Music Education from the University of Maryland and his Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. He is currently principal trombonist with the York Symphony and Mid-Atlantic Symphony. He has also performed with the Baltimore Symphony, Maryland Symphony, Delaware Symphony, and Annapolis Symphony, as well as, a live radio performance with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra in 2008. As a performer, he has played in many great concert halls such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, the Gordon Center, and the Lyric Opera House. His chamber group experience includes working with the Concert Artists of Baltimore, The Handel Choir of Baltimore, and the Annapolis Chorale.

Mr. Mazziott is also a dedicated educator in the Baltimore area teaching as a low brass instructor.  His teaching resume includes the Community College of Baltimore County at Essex, Loyola College, Goucher College, Notre Dame College, The Gilman School, The Friends School of Baltimore, Baltimore School for the Arts, and Archbishop Curley High School.
