Mexican Soprano Judy Yannini is a professional opera singer who throughout her career has always nurtured an interest in teaching. Highlights of her career include singing on stage with internationally renowned Mexican tenor Fernando de la Mora in the 122nd Anniversary Concert in her native Tijuana, Mexico. She was the winner of the American Opera Idol 2020 with Opera Connecticut. “My mentors taught me not only how to sing well but also how to handle the demands and expectations of a professional singing career; I have always wanted to share that information with my students to best prepare them for success.” Judy’s students have found success in a variety of vocal disciplines, some going on to produce music on Spotify as Verified Artists.
Judy’s singing career centers around opera: her most recent roles include Ginevra from Handel’s Ariodante with the Maryland Opera Studio and Mimí from La Bohème with IN Series. She was part of Opera Ambulante in Tijuana, performing opera flash mobs across Mexico, Canada and the USA. Judy has explored her interest in musical theater by directing her own concert series The Disney SongBook with pianist Roberto Salomón, performed to sold-out audiences for three years in a row. Judy is passionate about teaching students to find their voice in opera, musical theater, pop music, and many other genres.
